Biography
[PROVVISORIO] Text to be approved with Lorenzo.
Lorenzo Forti is a painter from Milan. He paints in oil using seventeenth-century techniques: layered glazes and colours prepared from natural pigments, as was done in the past.
As a child, visiting exhibitions, he was drawn to seventeenth-century painting, Caravaggio above all. After art high school he attended an Academy devoted to the techniques of the old masters.
His love of the sea came from his father, an underwater photographer; the bees from his mother, a beekeeper. Moray eels, octopuses, jellyfish and anemones fill his paintings alongside his self-portraits.
He almost always signs his works backwards, as a tribute to dyslexia.
